just so much fun to drum with
others and make rhythmic music

This series is for those
familiar with Layne's frame
drumming techniques on
tambourine and Tar, and
who want to take their drumming
to the next level.
Pre-requisite:
Attendance at a frame drumming
class series with Farrunnissa,
or attendance at a frame
drumming workshop with Layne.

This new Dance cycle is based on
Larry’s and Lynda's experience
of a plant dieta in the
Amazon basin of eastern Peru
this past summer, working with
curanderos (indigenous
healers). Includes photos, field
recordings, and a discussion of
the visionary experiences
produced by the plants used in
the healing ceremonies. For

"Giving Birth To Ourselves"
(GBTO) is Layne Redmond's
original landmark in-depth
series on the tambourine and
Tar with rhythmic
techniques from the Middle East,
Azerbaijan, North Africa,
Brazil, and India. This is a
unique training of a musical
discipline within a spiritual
framework, leading to mastery at
many levels. We will explore the
healing power of the drum,
ritual, and rhythm, going beyond
our concepts of who and what we
are. Pre-requisite:
Attendance at a
Beginning Frame Drum class with
Farrunnissa, or at a previous
workshop with Layne. Early

Illuminating the Heart" with
Murshid Wali Ali Meyer,
Chapel Hill. We're so
thrilled that
Sufi master Wali Ali Meyer
will be returning to the
Triangle for a retreat and
public Dance meeting next
January! Wali Ali was the
personal secretary of Murshid
Samuel L. Lewis, the originator
of the Dances of Universal
Peace, for the last years before
Murshid S.A.M.'s passing and is
currently the head of the
Esoteric School of the Sufi
Ruhaniat International. He
is co-author of the powerful new
book on the Ninety-Nine
Beautiful Names of God,
Physicians of the Heart.
Wali Ali is a master of the
Dances of Universal Peace and
Spiritual Walks, and a legendary
teacher in Sufi circles from
Morocco to San Francisco. More
details of the event will be
